Finding a new job – the best strategies

In my life, I have had to change employers from time to time. Sometimes voluntarily, but unfortunately also involuntarily. There are many reasons for changing jobs. A new relationship, a move, the desire for change, negative experiences in the current position, improvement of the financial position or to advance the career. Whatever your reasons for looking, there are measures that can help you find a job quickly. And I don’t mean just any job, but one that really interests you.

Job search – the best tips

In this day and age, the transparency of the job market has improved. There are countless online job exchanges that can help you with the job search. There you can apply directly for current vacancies. However, the database is much more interesting. Enter your documents in a profile and your interests. On as many sites as possible. Then the algorithm will send you jobs. In addition, many headhunters use such portals to target candidates.

Another option is to use recruitment agencies. They provide jobs for permanent or temporary employment. Apply to as many agencies as possible. Such companies control a huge shadow labour market. Especially small companies and medium-sized businesses like to use these services. Usually they cannot afford to build up a human resources department. For this reason, they outsource the work. You will never see advertisements for such jobs.

The world is small, they say. Therefore, it may well happen that opportunities arise in the immediate environment. Someone knows someone who knows someone… So use your personal environment. Just tell your friends and acquaintances that you are currently open to change. Then it can sometimes happen very quickly and you’ll have an invitation to a job interview in your hand.

For the generation that hasn’t yet grown up with social media, this may sound a little strange. But companies have taken to posting jobs where their target group is. In the business sector, these are networks such as Xing or LinkedIn. But there are also more and more advertisements on portals like Facebook or Instagram. Why? Because everyone, from plumbers to managers, looks there from time to time. That’s why it’s always possible to address exactly the right person in this way. Those who do not use such media out of principle, data protection, arrogance or lack of interest are making a mistake. In the future, more and more advertisements, no matter for what purpose, will be placed in such a way that they have as little spread as possible. And that’s what social media is best for.

One thing is certain: the more sources you use, the more offers you will receive. This increases the likelihood that you will find a position that exactly matches your expectations.
